As I mentioned in my post about Cuenca, Parque Nacional Cajas was the highlight of the region for me. Its rugged wholesome beauty deserves more than ‘one brief look’ most of its visitors give. I suggest 3 different ways of exploring the páramo.

After 5 days of eating the same bland food on the Amazon boat trip, arriving in Belém was like finding a gastronomic pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
